Just a heads up for August. We will be focusing on CANNING!!! So dust off your jars and tips and anything you could share. We are officially meeting August 30, 9:00 a.m. at the church. Everyone is invited to bring something you have canned to show or share. We will also have bread and if you have a yummy jam you have made bring it along.
I'm a sale shopper so you might hear a lot from me on sales. Allens has 25 lb. sugar for $9.99. These days if it drops under 10.00, I usually stock up. A while ago it dropped to $8.99 but I never know if it will happen again. This price is good through Saturday, August 2.
Also just an FYI it looks like Maceys has changed their ads to go from Wednesdays to Tuesdays.

Food Storage Recipe
Taco Soup
1/2 lb. Hamburger OR 1-2 can beef chunks
1/2 c chopped onions OR small handfull dry onions
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 can whole kernel corn OR 1 c frozen corn
1 can kidney beans AND/OR 1 can black beans
1 pkg. dry taco seasoning
Do not drain any of the above ingredients. Combine all ingredients and simmer for 2 hours. Serve with grated cheese AND/OR sour cream AND/OR tortilla chips!
I love this recipe because it's so easy. And all the AND/OR s. let you use whatever you have on hand and rotate some storage!

Don’t forget to store non-food essentials! Like, toilet paper, diapers, feminine products, medications and anything else your family might need. If you are using your storage to get through a financial low you might be happy to find some extra dish or laundry soap stored away!

Maceys also has the sugar for $9.99!! Maceys and Allens usually have many of the same things on sale.
